What Handler does

Handler builds a four-week strength plan around your goals, schedule, equipment and training history. During a workout it helps you change the session: how hard the last set felt, busy equipment, something that feels off, or less time than you planned.

Available on iOS and Android. New on iPhone? 7 days free, then $79.99/year in the US. No free version. Updated .

Feature pages

Each page covers one part of Handler in more detail, including what it does not do yet.

How-toThe taps for each one are in the help center.

Not yetNo Apple Watch app yet; it's in development. Coach chat and sync need a connection, and offline logging hasn't been independently tested.

In the app

What Handler does during training, with the limits next to each one.

Four-week strength plan

Handler builds a four-week strength plan around your goals, schedule, equipment and training history.

An active plan is kept rather than rebuilt.

Workout logging

Log the weight and reps you actually lift. Handler fills your numbers into the sets that follow, runs your rest timers, handles supersets and plate maths, and saves progress as you go.

Handler logs what you enter. It doesn't count reps or check your technique.

Daily check-in

Before you train, tell Handler how you feel: Fresh, Sore, Low Energy or Something Hurts. It can shorten today's session, ease the work for sore muscles, or suggest recovery instead.

It works from what you tell it, not from a wearable. It's training guidance, not medical advice.

Coach chat

Ask your coach about your training at any time. It knows your plan, your history and today's workout, and can move a missed session, fit the rest of a workout into the time you have, or rebuild your week once you confirm.

Needs a connection and your consent to AI processing. Bigger changes wait for you to confirm. Coach can't see your form.

Progress and history

See your workouts, personal records and weekly reports by week, month or all time, and share a workout, a PR or your rank as a card.

Recovery trends come from your check-ins, not body sensors. There's no body-weight history chart yet.

Effort Check

After your second working set of an exercise, Effort Check asks how it felt — Too Easy, Solid, Hard But Good or Maxed Out — and suggests a new target for the sets you have left.

Once per exercise. Not shown on warm-up sets or Quick Gym workouts. Check your remaining sets before you lift them.

Busy equipment swaps

If the rack or bench is taken, mark it busy. At a saved location, Handler automatically replaces exercises you haven't started with ones that keep the same movement pattern. Started exercises stay as they are.

Handler can't see which stations are free; it goes on what you mark. Swaps keep the same movement pattern and use equipment you marked available, ranked by shared main muscles, then difficulty. For a half-done exercise, Move Remaining Sets moves the unfinished working sets to another movement and keeps the completed ones. Replacing a started exercise by hand resets it.

Something feels off

If something feels off mid-workout, tell Handler where and how it feels. It can keep you going carefully, lower the remaining targets, or swap the exercise. It does not diagnose or treat pain.

Training guidance only, not medical care. Severe, sharp or lasting symptoms need a qualified professional.

Quick Gym

Short on time? Quick Gym gives you a 7, 10 or 15-minute workout: pick Large Gym, Small Gym, Home Gym, Hotel or Bodyweight. Mid-workout, ask Coach to fit the rest into the time you have left; it keeps completed working sets and trims what's left.

Times are targets, not finish times. Quick Gym workouts skip Effort Check. When Coach trims a workout, it can drop a whole exercise, including warm-up sets you logged for it.

Coach styles and voice calls

Pick a coach style — Chill, Hype, Direct or Savage — and a coach, Marcus or Sarah. With Pro you can call your coach for a two-way voice conversation with captions.

Coach style changes wording only, not training or safety rules. Savage carries an explicit-content warning in onboarding. Voice calls need Handler Pro and AI-processing consent, and end after 10 minutes.

Strength Rank and Strength Map

Track your logged strength through rank tiers and a muscle-level Strength Map.

A personal score from your logged sets. Not a percentile, leaderboard or independent strength test. Early ranks are provisional.

Exercise video demos

Video demos for 431 exercises, with female demos for selected exercises.

Some library exercises have still images only. Exercises without a female demo show the male demo.
